Art Schlichter has sentencing postponed

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A federal judge has postponed sentencing for ex-Ohio State and NFL quarterback Art Schlichter in a fraud case stemming from a million-dollar ticket-selling scheme.
US District Court Judge Michael Watson on Monday agreed to give Schlichter more time to have his mental health assessed after a follow-up appointment was canceled when Schlichter was arrested for alleged cocaine use.
The 52-year-old Schlichter has been held in jail after authorities said he violated the conditions of his bond last month by testing positive for cocaine use while free on house arrest.
Following his arrest, Schlichter requested he receive drug abuse counseling once hes sentenced.
Authorities say the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback defrauded more than 50 people by promising college football and NFL tickets he never delivered.
